Great Stove for Car Camping - Dual Fuel is a Must!
Gas One GS-4000P: I have now used this stove camping for a full four seasons. I can't sing its praises high enough. Wish I had one 25 years ago.Prior to this, I have used white gas and butane powered single burner stoves. Switching to a propane-fueled stove has made all the difference. Butane, with its boiling point of only 30-34oF is only suitable for use summertime and indoors (chafing dishes). As the gas leaves the canister, it expands and cools. Quickly, you have a cold can and no gas flow and low or no flame. You end up removing and holding the can against your body to re-warm it. This does not happen with propane. The attached photo is taken in temps of ~ 34oF. Note the frost on the propane tank.I am very pleased with all aspects of the GS-4000P. I have found it to be of high quality manufacture, solid reliability, ease of packing and storage in it's plastic box, and quick lighting. While you can turn the flame up to achieve a quick boil, it can be turned down to almost nil, good for simmering.

Worth the investment
Very happy so far with this decision to get the premium dual fuel model. This thing can crank out some heat but can also simmer down low and slow. Good study construction, nice gold finish. Case isn't the sturdiest but does the job. Would be nice if there was a spot in the case to hold the propane accessories. That way you could store a butane bottle inside the unit but there's not room for both. That's my only gripe and not enough to take off a star.

Decent one burner stove
I do a lot of camping every year and have a full Kitchen set up for days or weeks of camping. But sometimes I just want an overnight and don’t need my full Camp Kitchen. My needs are simple: Something light in the evening, Tea and oatmeal in the morning. The Gas One GS-4000P will do that just fine.I haven’t used it much, but it does do what it’s supposed to. It does seem to operate in mild breezes well, but I haven’t tested it in any decent wind. Both Butane and Propane work well. I was lucky and received an undamaged case. The plastic used is flimsy, but I baby my equipment so it’s not a problem for me.Just a couple of issues: There are no instructions! I could figure things out, but at least pictures would have helped. The Propane attachment is a bit of a kludge: It is comprised of two pieces that once I figured it out make sense, but how hard could it be to include one page of pictures... The aluminum burner is concerning: They use Brass on the Gas One 15,000btu model, and for what the Gas One GS-4000P costs they should have included one too. I wanted a better wind shield design so went with the Gas One GS-4000P. The two-piece propane adapter does not have a safety valve on either piece. This seems like a bad design. All other propane stoves have a pin valve on the riser that connects to the propane bottle that prevents gas leakage when attached to the bottle. That this does not is a design defect. It wouldn’t even be that hard! One and a half stars off for these.Overall, I’m pleased with this. Recommended.

Great car camping stove
We're using this as a temporary one-burner stove while our kitchen is being remodeled. But we also car-camp for a couple of weeks at a time and this would be great for a base camp where you are not carrying it around. The unit is sturdy, with a minimum of parts to get loose or get lost. Just an easy-to-remove one piece grate/splash plate to clean. The burner starts reliably every time with one-click; we're running it off a 1lb propane tank, it takes butane as well. Heat output is good, we regularly cook with kitchen-size 12" fry pan, will boil a kitchen kettle of water (two big mugs worth) in about 5 mins. We use it multiple times a day, and have been for 2.5 months and counting.

Excellent camp stove - pancakes on a windy morning!
Took this camping this last weekend! One night/morning was as windy as my crew would ever tolerate (we wouldn't hesitate to get a hotel in bad weather) and I couldn't believe the stove stayed lit through the wind. I only had some make-shift things to block the wind and they kept blowing over. I purchased a 12 inch cast iron griddle/grill and it fit perfectly on the stove! Very well-made, easy to use, and excellent carrying case. Not for backpack camping, but perfect for car camping!

Compact, High Output, Excellent Heat Adjustment-Simmer
I used my new compact, high-output Gas ONE GS-4000P on a four day car-camp outing at 4500' to cook for two persons using CRV approved butane canisters. Meals consisted of large one-pot dinners and scrambled egg breakfasts, and hot water for drinks and cleanup. The high 12,000 BTU output quickly brought water to a boil for drinks and heated the dinners faster than expected while the simmer was flawless as I prepped side items and set the table. Heating up a ten inch skillet of scrambled eggs with corned beef hash and cheese was fast and heat adjustment was excellent to avoid burning the eggs. As I was simmering the third meal the simmer adjustment got a little trickier which prompted me to check the canister and it was essentially empty.I must admit that I wasn't specifically looking for them in the past but hadn't noticed butane canisters for these stoves small stores in remote area where I can always find the small propane canisters so dual fuel is a real nice option. And honestly I really like the clear plastic carrying case so I can see what's in it.I am very pleased with the stove.
