Aquasana Glass Water Bottles and BPA Free Lid, 18-oz, 6-pack, White, blue

I received my bottles this morning. Unfortunately there was a crack in the glass of one of them that I noticed. I just threw it out and was going to let it go. The 6 come in a very well packed box, and then Amazon of course puts the box in another box with padding. So I thought the crack was just a fluke. I poured filtered room temp tap water into the bottles and put them all in refrigerator. A couple hours later I took one out to drink. That's when the BOTTOM of the bottle simply fell off... (it's like a glass cutter cut a perfect circle!) It was full in my hands, and did not drop or anything... The bottom just dropped with water all over the place. Since it is not Amazon's fault, I feel it was only right that I contact Aquasana directly. I took a photo of the bottle and emailed, but attachments would not be included in message. I went into their chat support, got someone immediately. I uploaded the image to a photo site, and simply gave them a link to it. They instantly said they would ship a replacement of the two bottles. The main reason I am going through all this detail is to warn you to thoroughly check the bottles for any cracks. Fill them all with water before washing, to see if they leak. I did not get hurt, but it was very odd to have the bottom of a bottle just fall off. I did question the company if they had ever heard of this happening before, and they said no. I believe them, as this was an isolated experience. But it is nice to know they stand by their product. Just take a photo so they see your problem if you ever have one. The bottles are actually heavy and very sturdy. The unique bottle top twists tightly and has a rubber seal to prevent leaks. I am going to try and use them at the gym. I can simply wrap one in a shirt or towel and problem solved. The bottles have a larger mouth than a typical water bottle, so they are easier to clean. There is an OXO brush suggested above, but I got the OXO Good Grips Water Bottle Cleaning Set . That set has many uses, and includes a smaller brush perfect for cleaning the cap.

I live in the sticks up on the side of a mountain and when I built my house I had to have a well drilled. They drilled 650 feet through rock until they hit a vein of water. I’ve had it tested and the water quality is excellent. After drinking that great tasting water for awhile I really began to notice how bad the water in plastic bottles that I bought at convenience stores tasted when I was out traveling in my car. I did some research and discovered that water in plastic bottles tastes bad because the plastic leaches yucky chemicals into the water that over time can be bad for your health. That’s when I decided to buy these glass bottles and bring my own water with me. I liked it so much that I purchased a second set of these bottles and keep them in my fridge filled with water. I use these bottles at home, when I work out at the gym, and I bring some with me in a cooler when I travel. They are surprisingly tough. I’ve dropped them before on my hardwood floor and they just bounced and didn’t even crack. I’m sure it’s possible to break them, they are glass, but I’ve had 12 of them for several years now, put them through the dishwasher countless times, and none of them have ever broke. The only damage is that I’ve had a couple of the plastic caps chip around the edges but, it didn’t affect the usability of the bottles or the seal.

I bought these bottles a few years ago when I went through my juicing phase. In the end, I didn’t stick with juicing (labor intensive. I blend instead), so these bottles ended up stored in their box on the shelf, pretty much forgotten. What a shame. A few months ago, I found the box and on a whim, decided to fill all six bottles with water and stick them in the fridge. We have four teens at home and I’ve been pretty firm about not buying plastic water bottles, but they like the convenience of just grabbing a bottle from the fridge. Also, we live in a very warm climate and after a few people pour a glass of water from the fridge, the water is no longer cold because the water in the pipes is lukewarm. This is the main reason the kids reach for bottled water when we have it—bottled water is fast and cold. It took the kids a day to find the bottles.... “Can we just use these? Or is it for some project?” “Sure. Just put them by the sink when you’re done. I don’t want to find them under your bed.” And just like that, we started using these bottles. I put them all in the dishwasher in the evening and fill them when they’re clean. The teens LOVE them because they can just grab ice cold water on the run, and they hold up very well. I just ordered another six to keep up with the kid demand, in fact. They are simple, pretty bottles—also, very sturdy and we haven’t broken any yet. Exactly what we needed to help kick the plastic bottle habit.

SIX 18-ounce bottles for more than just water; however, in this home, that's all we use. Our tap water is just fine for us, especially since it comes out of the ground from mountain water from a more than 300 foot deep well. We began using water bottles quite some time ago and we just got tired of buying glass bottled drinks and then we could only find one supplier and sought another product. We bought Aquasana's AQ-6005 and could not have been more pleased with the product. Our routine is simple: two ready to go bottles of water for medicine and just drinking. We take a heap of medicine, especially John with all his ailments and maintenance adventures. With the remaining two bottles we keep them in the outside freezer (empty) and also ready to go when we wash two of the refrigerator bottles. Too much information, but we have flexibility and that permits other iterations of the 6 bottles. They are hefty, but not so heavy, but light enough for everyday use. The mouth fits into the sink faucet with ease. The caps work well and are large enough to screw on and off with ease. Dish washing has not been a problem; however, I can see that if the cap is placed in the dishwasher with the )-Ring facing down it can easily get too hot and fall out. Thanks to an earlier reviewer, this condition has not taken place yet. We have used the top shelf with the caps turned up. We not only find these bottles useful, but appealing and highly recommend them.

The glass bottles themselves are great. That said; they are made in China, can we really trust that the glass is lead (or some other contaminant) free? It was uncertain (to me anyway) from the photos, the description or the reviews weather or not the bottles actually had a logo printed on them... they do, I could have really done without that. The logo is etched, not removable... the bottles would be so much more beautiful without Aquasana's brand name taking up 1/4 of the bottle. The bottles hold exactly 17.9 oz. when filled to the base of the neck or just over 18 oz. when filled into the neck. The moderately sized bottle mouth is easy to drink from and the bottles clean well in the dishwasher. The caps seal well but are very "cheap" feeling compared to the bottle itself. The caps are very smooth and oddly shaped making it difficult to get a grip on them also. A simple design change would make the caps so much easier to use for everyone but especially for individuals who's hands have grip limitations. Be aware that the (very expensive) Aquasana AquaKoozy does not fit this bottle (much too tall, diameter OK) - it's evidently made for the 27 oz. bottle. Basically, the bottles look beautiful, function well and I'm happy to have them with the listed exceptions.

I purchased these in December 2012, and now almost 4 years later they are still in excellent working condition in our house. We have never had any problems with them. They have not leaked for us in any way shape or form. We wash them in the dishwasher, both the bottles and the lids. The lids I stick in my silverware tray on the non heated cycle. Usually, we just keep water in them and then stick them in the fridge to either drink in the house or take along with us in the car. We have put them in back packs, go bags, and lunches. The stand about 8' tall and the bottles is about 2.5" in diameter. The bottle is glass and the cap is a BPA free plastic lid which has a silicone type ring insert to help keep it all from leaking. I do not believe we have lost rings before. Overall ... no complaints. I nice, thick, and sturdy glass bottle that will last a LONG time.

I'll start off by saying these are great glass water bottles. They look great, and feel heavy, thick, and sturdy. Exactly what you look for in glass products. I was wary of purchasing these. I paid $25 for 6, and questioned the value of the purchase. I've been known to drop things, and would hate to shatter a bottle accidentally. But after I got these I realized that these bottles will last a long time. This realization came as I accidentally dropped one off a table, (about 3 feet). Like a slow motion movie, I watched in horror as this two week old glass bottle slowly fell to its death. Except it didn't die. It didn't do anything. It went clunk, and rolled and that was it. Horror went to joy as I inspected the bottle and noticed, absolutely nothing. There was no sign of anything. Not a chip, scratch, or mark on the bottle. I would also like to say, I've been drinking more water since I've got these. I have no explanation. Maybe, it's just easier to grab one of these glasses out of the fridge, then it was grabbing a cup. Maybe it's more fun? I have no idea. But it's true. If I had to choose something to pick on with these bottles, I would say the plastic caps. They serve the purpose, and work fine. But they are really thin plastic, and somewhat cheapens the bottle. At least that's my opinion. I would also like to mention that a bottle brush is needed. You can get one on Amazon for $4.99. But I believe it's imperative, if you're going to be using these often, to properly clean them. All in all, a great product.

I purchased two sets of these bottles to replace inexpensive water bottles that I was reusing and refilling at home. After a while, it simply became too cumbersome trying to clean the plastic bottles and small plastic caps in order to keep them sanitary so I began my search for inexpensive glass replacements. I have to say that I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the Aquasana 18 oz glass bottles! I have owned them for about a month and they have really held up to steady use! Some users have complained about the blue plastic caps but I find them to be very sturdy, just the right size and very easy to screw on and off. They also include a rubber o-ring inside which makes for a water tight seal! Best of all, the bottles and plastic caps are sturdy enough to place in the dishwasher! My favorite use for these bottles is filling them up with water and using single serve packets of drink mix. I simply pour the packet of drink mix in the water, place the plastic cap on and shake! I do this to all 12 of my Aqusana 18 oz bottles and put them in the refrigerator to get nice and cold. This way, I always have a healthy, low calorie assortment of drinks ready to go! I do want to point out that the opening of the bottles that you drink out of is larger than a standard water bottle. During normal use, you will not be able to drink with your entire mouth around the opening of the bottle. If you did, you would probably choke on the drink! I personally don't find this to be a problem at all but I know that some other reviewers have preferred a smaller bottle opening.
