Columbia Sportswear Men's Sweet as II Softshell Hoodie

Got it today and rode about 10 miles around town on my bike running errands, in high 30's weather. I wore a t-shirt and 2 long sleeve shirts underneath, and I was very comfortable. I wear XL but bought XXL so that I could layer with shirts and add a Columbia softshell underneath when things get really cold. For my purpose, I found it excellent; light, breathable, good wind breaker, very light and soft (no crunchy, plasticky raincoat sounds, packs small...can roll it up and stuff it into the hood.) The only minor gripes for me so far are that the cuffs and the collar are not adjustable, no velcro or drawcords. It would not be hard to add some velcro, so no biggie.A lot of complaints are that this jacket is not warm enough, or it is too warm. What it is is a great, lightweight layer, that can do a lot of things...over a t shirt and you have a nice summer rain jacket...put it over several shirts and a sweater or a soft shell, and you are ready for much colder weather.I bought the two tone green and like it a lot. It is good looking, yet bright and good for visibility without being an annoying neon green.

I've liked Columbia products for a long time, but I have had some that were a little bit like a vynyl or plastic on the outside to be waterproof or very water resistent. This one is not that case at all. It's a very soft, very quiet material that flexes with you and is very comfortable to wear. It's not a thick jacket and can easily be worn for activities that require a lot of arm movement or upper body movement. I probably wouldn't use it to climb a mountain, but for most tasks I was very pleased with how this product was made and how it works. Completely satisfied.

It's a very intense, saturated green, more intense than it looks in the picture. They seem to have photographed it under a very bright light.Green is tricky. If it had more blue and less yellow in it, or if it were darker, or if it were paler, I'd love it.It's a color that I haven't seen anywhere in nature - beautiful, fascinating and repellent at the same time. Like a big green poisonous flower in the rainforest.Otherwise - water ran right off it, didn't dampen it at all. It would probably keep the rain off just fine.It seemed a bit snug for the size, and I need to wear bulky layers underneath in the winter.It's very light, possibly not as warm as other shell jackets.

Mine fit well I did go up another size following others recommendation. I think I would have been fine staying with my normal size, if you have an athletic built staying with your normal size will work. This is a light shell not meant for any kind of serious weather but it would be a great extra cover for a day hike.

This jacket is awesome. Fits really well. Has pull cords all around to customize fit. Warm for MN fall weather and water proof. Not warm enough for winter weather, but thats not its intended use. Would definitly recommend to others.

Very light jacket. It is a summer jacket, just for rain, do not expect to be able to use in colder temps. I kept it because I need a summer rain jacket.

I have to return the coat due to size. I like the looks of the coat.

I purchased this jacket for my 14 year old son. It's a nice looking jacket...he has not had a chance to test it out in the rain as of yet.
