It is as expected. The bulb is bright and clear and there have been no issues since installing it. I have purchased the cheaper bulbs in the past and I would buy them in threes because I would always get two bad ones that would burn out quickly and then one decent bulb that would last 8-10 months. I think from now on I will stick with the actual OEM replacement.

All put back together = bright and beautiful TV
I purchased my Samsung HLT5075/SX TV in 2007, and the factory bulb finally died a few days ago. The TV would try 3 times to turn on, fail to light up, and then the three LEDs (red, red, green) blinked continuously on the front. I was looking for a genuine Philips OEM bulb assembly based on subpar reviews of the alternative brand. I ordered this bulb on the 3rd and had it on the 5th (Amazon Prime). The instructions on the Philips factory box containing the lamp are for a different brand of TV, but I found instructions for my Samsung DLP on YouTube. The handle on the outer black plastic housing was a little different than the one in my TV, but otherwise it looked to be identical. The retaining clip in the TV matched the plastic guides on the housing perfectly. I locked it down, plugged the TV back in, and pressed power. The bulb lit up briefly but the TV turned back off. Now there were two blinking lights (red, off, green). Rats! I was momentarily crestfallen. Back to the internet; what else could it be? Turns out you need to reinstall the lamp door before powering on the TV (there is a safety switch). I had left it off to try to listen for and diagnose the whirring sound the TV had also been making for some time. After screwing that back in, I powered on the TV. Success! The screen is clear and noticeably brighter (though it hadn't seemed particularly dim before it died). I am very happy not to have to buy a new TV. Hopefully this bulb will last me a while. It's only been 2 days. So far so good!

Worked great in my 46" DLP
This bulb arrived packed in both original Philips protective box, as well as outer Dynamic Lamps shipping box, which appeared to do a great job of protecting the bulb in shipment. It also had a Philips letter describing exactly HOW to identify it as a genuine Philips bulb (stampings on the bulb itself from manufacturing). The installation directions were also well written. It was also interesting to look at my original bulb that came with my Samsung HLS 4676SX/XAA, & see "Made in China", but was able to get over 13,000 hrs out of it!! (I kept it CLEAN & well ventilated in there). I can only hope to get that many hrs from this new one. So far, so good (100 hrs), it is bright & clean. It was also great to find the Dynamic Lamps website explaining the various quality lamps for sale out there (you get what you pay for). Looking it up & reading was very helpful for me. The only thing I will do / research next time, is trying to buy JUST the bulb, since it appears to be VERY easy to remove & replace the bulb from the plastic housing (easy clips under regular screws). Why not use my original plastic lamp housing, verses paying for a new one?!!

Bulb lasted almost exactly two years before burning out.
This bulb lasted almost exactly two years from purchase (April 2015-May 2017). I guess this is reasonable, but I'd rather have it work a bit longer given the expense. It was easy enough to install, but I don't think we're going to buy another one to replace it. At this point, I could buy a new tv that doesn't require a $90 part every two years.

Can’t say enough good things! Thank you! Keeping an 80yr old man happy in a pandemic is not easy. This literally brighten his day! Samsung DLP TV would only stay on 1min, then shut off, then turn on, then off etc. Installed this new bulb and Voila! The picture is crisper and brighter and better yet, it stays on without turning off! 5 stars here!

6 Months and Still Rocking!
I waited quite a while (6 months) before leaving a review. Too many burn-outs on the cheaper brands to write sooner. So far, this lamp for my DLP is working like a champ and worth the price - so far. If I can get a year out of it, totally sold and will definitely stay with a Samsung/Phillips lamp. Sure, $25.00 sounds great on those cheapies, but the hassle is not worth it. I still have my original factory lamp that I use while waiting for a new one (a back-up is essential with a DLP!). And this one is nearly the same, so I have great hopes. Will update when/if it blows before that magic year. All in all, good investment and a big rec.

Fortunately I was able to get a refund
I purchased a less expensive bulb before and it popped in about 30 days. Fortunately I was able to get a refund. So I decided to to spend a little more than I would have liked, and couldn't be happier with it. Almost 2 full months in and still working (my wife and I work from home periodically so it's normally on in the background all day). The picture is still crisp and bright. It typically takes less than 1 minute to reach full brightness on the first turn on of the day too. Like I said more than I wanted to spend but still cheaper than getting a new TV.

Does not work past 4 months
I would give less than 1 star if that was an option. 4 months after purchasing the bulb (and extended warranty) it went out and smelled like an electric fire. I contacted the extended warranty company who advised it was still under “manufacturer warranty”. Contacted Amazon who directed me to Samsung as they are the manufacturer of the item. Samsung stated “they are not responsible for the defected part” WITH THEIR NAME ON THE SIDE”. At the end of the day Amazon was great and refunded my account. I have replaced the bulb 3 times in the past two years ( not with this one). Time to go shopping for a new TV... GO LG
