Exemplifies why the printed word is still needed sometimes kids. This book is so well done it makes me insanely jealous of Bill’s life. Trails are reviewed as you would hike them with perfected overlap., detailed discussion and knowledge taken only from one who had repeatedly hiked them. Ratings based on intended goals (e.g. scenery, wildlife, difficulty) allow you to pick and choose. Tells you how to get there, where to park, direction to hike, direction to take at forks, add ons, things to see, time of day, time of year considerations and more. The only thing Bill doesn’t do is cook your bacon and egg breakfast in the morning people. What are you still reading this review for? Buy it. Hike. Be happy!

Someone may of said this about the book or it was another book. It is a very good book about all of the normal trails. As good as it gets. I wish he would of included the hikes up the South Teton and Middle Teton. From what I have read on the net they are easily climbed via foot trails. They are not like the Grand Teton which is not a hiking trail trip as the other two are. So I do completely understand how come Grand Teton is not in the book. If it was not for that it would of gotten 5 stars.

A great guide. Only one complaint, it did not have any information on the Table Rock hike on the western side of the Tetons. It is one of the best hikes I have ever been on and this book doesn't have it listed.

An absolute must if you are spending some time in the Yellowstone ecosystem. I worked for two summers in Yellowstone and never planned a hike without first consulting this guide. Excellent valuable information. Accurate maps. Seriously, get this.

Good, clear reference to Teton park and an enjoyable read in anticipation of you trip. We used this on our first of three trips, then bought another copy for our kids, when they planned their trip. Our bear tip--forget the expensive bear mace, just attach a bell to your pack. Never surprise a bear (even on his birthday)!

This book gave us great information about hikes around the Grand Teton area. We had so many hikes we wanted to take due to the descriptions in the book but decided on the Surprise Lake hike. The hike was just as described. I'd recommend this book for people wanting to find just the right hike for themselves.

Very good BOOK, im sure its just me, but I was looking for a thin guide to carry with me. This thing is way too big and heavy to carry in the back country.
