Versatile
I have a total of 4 of these (ordered 2 of the 2 packs) and they work great. My wife and I have 3 cars and we occasionally switch cars. This allows us to detach quickly and switch. We have mailboxes where it requires a key and around the block from our house. When we get the mail, this allows for me to keep the key in the ignition and get my mail (always be sure your surroundings are safe if you try this). Also, when we get our car serviced it easily and quickly detaches to give the shop the key without giving all your keys. Biggest plus is that because we have multiple cars, this allows us to keep our keychains to a minimal and less bulk. I'm sure you will like it.

Very convenient for quick separation of your keys
These are invaluable for those times you have to use valet parking and give over your car key. You can pop off your car key while retaining the rest of your keys.I received a logo-d version from my car dealer in 2004 when I bought a new car, and I was hooked. Then last week - after almost 13 years - it broke and I decided I "had" to have a new one.I received my package of two and both work as they are supposed to. One of them is a little stiff to operate the mechanism, so I will keep it as back-up in case the first one breaks. For the good price, I'm not too fussy.I will report back and change my review if it breaks prematurely. But so far so good.

A great bargain
These were an absolute bargain under $5 for two at the time of my review. They are sometimes a little hard to pull apart but it always works in the end. They are fairly good quality and are exactly what I need so I can keep my car keys and house keys separate in case I have to give either one to someone else for a period of time (like when I drop the car off at the dealer for service). I'm happy with these for the price I paid.

Matched Older Set
I was able to use these on an older keychain I had in order to swap keys and attach when needed. I thought they were a little expensive for what they are but none-the-less work as they are suppossed to.

what you need if you have a heavy key chain for your car ignition
With General Motors in hot water for 11 years of misinformation to the design flaw, these are mandatory and a simple solution for those with a lot of keys. My average key chain has 20 keys so I moved the vehicle and house keys to one part, the rest to the 2nd part. My large key ring has 55 keys and I did the same to it. I also bought these for girlfriends. I would suggest you mark each ring with a orange ribbion or something because NOW YOU WILL HAVE 2 SETS OF KEYS TO KEEP TRACK OF .

Just as I expected.
These are no better or worse quality than what I have purchased in the past in local stores or automotive shops. The convenience of being able to remove a single key from my humongous, heavy set is invaluable. With 2 vehicles that have rather large wireless key fobs, numerous house keys, mailbox keys, and other miscellaneous keys, this whole group weighs way more than is recommended for a vehicle ignition switch. This pull-apart key chain allows me to remove only the key that I need when I need it.

Works for me
The key chain is not as sturdy in material as the one I replaced, but it does the trick. I actually removed the circular key holders and replaced them with the old ones from my other fob, because they were stronger. It was also an easier hack than replacing each key one by one on the new fob. However, I'm glad to have found this, because my old one lasted me well over a decade, and it is what I am used to using.

One shipped broken, one broke "separating it from it's mate"
One shipped broken, one broke "separating it from it's mate".I've used these VALET KEYS for over 20 years, and mine was working just fine, but the d'bag valet LOST my "other part" (how it got off thekey ring is totally BEYOND me......) and I needed this for a "custom lockout" for my vehicle. I lose it? I'm screwed, have to call home..........you get it.I guess the quality has gone downhill since thing have become so mass produced in China, if you see the "fob" pictured on the leftis my original, and you can see how substantially more "metal went into it".If you also noticed the "broken one", and just to the right of the spring, is a "smudge": That's the HOLLOW ball bearing that'ssupposed to keep the key chain together, and then a push on the plunger releases the ball bearing. Structurally, a sphere isthe strongest shape, however when you hollow it out and put a direct pressure point on it, it has a "crush point" which fails, resultingin the eventual loss of "whatever you're trying to corral together".Now to hunt down that lame brained valet..................grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
