You're gonna love it!!!
Purchased this for a 2010 RAM 1500, 5.7L HEMI. The package and contents were all in good condition when I received it. No missing parts. Spent about 45 minutes assembling what I could without needing to touch the vehicle. Installing it in the vehicle took about 45 minutes; I would say the estimated 90 minute install time is pretty accurate. No problems with installing it per the instructions, but I did make some notes on the instructions that may help save you some time with your installation. I recommend watching the install video on the MFG website for this product if you want to know how easy it is to install! โบInstallation Notes โข You don't need to disconnect your negative battery cable to install this kit. Just make sure the key isn't in the ignition switch, i.e. that the ignition is turned OFF. This is a lot easier than writing down all the settings, reactivating radios, etc. This step was only mentioned to prevent the engine controller from reading a fault if power was applied to the IAT sensor while it was disconnected. โข I trimmed the crank case vent tube 12 inches and still wound up trimming the provided vent hose (PN 5-4015) about 4 inches in order to install it on the vent -- plenty to spare so don't worry about precisely measuring the crank case vent tube. โข Recommend using a tubing/PVC cutter to trim the vent tube, provided vent hose, and the edge trim. This makes the cuts super easy, especially for the hard plastic of the vent tube, and provided the edge trim! The edge trim has a metal insert (clip) in it to help it retain its shape and bite the edge of the heat shield. โข The 4mm Allen wrench mentioned in the instructions is used on the M6 button head screws only. You will need a 3mm Allen wrench (not listed) for the M5 button head screws used to assemble the heat shield. โข The zip-tie provided to secure the IAT extension harness is not long enough to go around the intake tube so plan on having some extra zip-ties handy. I used four (4), 8 inch zip-ties (two attached to each other to make two bands to secure the extension harness to the inlet tube. โบPerformance Results There was nothing truly remarkable about the this intake when I started it up after the install. However, the results were immediately apparent when I took it for a test drive. The difference in the sound of the engine when accelerating is definitely noticeable, and truly amazing! You can tell right away that she can breath better with this intake because the sound of her HEMI rumble tells you so!! There was definitely a noticeable increase in HP, which I expect is around the value of the K&N test results (+15 HP). It is too early to say how much it will improve fuel efficiency, especially since it sounds so good...it'll be hard to keep my foot out of it! From what I found doing some research, most people see a 1.5 to 2 MPG increase in their fuel efficiency.

Easy to install, Great results!
Easy to install... literally they provide everything you need custom fit for you engine compartment... the 90 degree fitting that most people mentioned should have been included... was included in my package along with 2 hose clamps and the instructions clearly stated that if the vent hose kinks then use the 90 degree fitting and two extra clamps for this... that really shows they listened to feedback and do the right thing by the customer in my opinion. You really only need a screwdriver, I used a nut driver instead of a flathead because it is much better when your in a cramped engine compartment working on a hose clamp and your flat head keeps slipping... you'll see what I mean if you have to use a flathead. You need a set of Allen wrenches, a basic socket or wrench set and an adjustable wrench. I also recommend a PVC pipe cutter or heavy shears to trim the vent hose. The air sensor is easy to remove just don't be forceful with it and it took me about 10 seconds to remove and another 10 seconds to re-install. Overall I installed it in about 90 minutes from opening the box to taking it for a test drive... no check engine lights and worked great. As for the long term performance I will need to revisit my review after I have driven the truck more but I can say this... it doesn't change the idle sound much and I got no sucking sound from the engine... I noticed an instant responsiveness in the throttle and an immediate mpg gain when accelerating. The deep growl sound really opens up when you punch the gas and sounds like a man's truck should. No droning sounds in the cab while driving at all either. Aesthetically it's very appealing... the filter is instantly adds a performance look that I love. And not to mention one less filter to change when you do maintenance... just a light spray of oil and your set

K&N - It is always a good choice
Installed the kit on a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie Longhorn. This particular truck already has a slightly louder factory exhaust than other models. There was not noticeable noise level at the intake or exhaust areas. The truck definitely breathes easier and takes off the line better. Gas performance is hard to truly state as the truck was new (about a month old) when installed. New vehicles I have learned do not have the best gas mileage until they are broken in. The truck now has 6,000 miles and is just over a year old. The only real highway driving was from CA to TX. The truck was fully loaded and obtained 19 MPG on the 1,600 mile trip. Since most of my driving is city and with only 1.3 miles to work, my MPG may not be the best to compare against. I believe in K&N's performance and gas mileage improvements. I've added K&N to all my vehicles and have noticed a difference - especially on motorcycles. Installation: Took about an hour or so. Quite easy and the instructions were quite well laid out - both in description and photographs.

2015 RAM 1500 Owners - READ THIS FIRST!!
I installed this intake on my 2015 RAM 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi. Everything was going in easy until the step where you cut your factory crankcase tube and "slip" the K&N hose over the remaining portion. Evidently RAM made a change to the factory crank case tube diameter during production and increased the diameter, making it nearly impossible to install the K&N hose onto it. Luckily K&N has a fix for this and will overnight it to you, but that didn't do me any good as I was halfway through installation when I found this out. The factory crank case tube is plastic and fairly tough, but DO NOT throw it away until you are 100% complete with the install. The hose that K&N sends which is used to connect to and extend the factory crank case tube is very rigid and could probably be used to beat and bludgeon the engineer who thought it was appropriate for this application. To solve the problem, I brought a pot of water to a boil and stuck the end of the K&N hose into it for about 3-4 min, thus softening the rubber. I also applied some Dawn dish soap to the end of the factory tube so it would slide in easier. While this was still somewhat difficult, it went on with a little elbow grease and it was a very tight fit, so I know it's not going to come off. I also found that the barb for the crank case hose is on the bottom of the K&N tube and points slightly forward, making the K&N hose pinch when coming out of the crank case cover. I then cut another section from the factory crank case tube and used a 3" length of K&N hose to create a splice using the aforementioned procedure with boiling water and soap. I used the factory tube section that has the prefabbed mandrel bend, which allowed for the K&N hose to connect at wide angle and not pinch. Other than the "Hosegate" incident, the install was very easy and I'm happy with the finished look and performance. I noticed the difference in sound immediately and it does have more power. I will have to drive it a lot more before any gains in fuel economy may occur. **UPDATE** I have been running with the intake installed for a few months now and I can confirm an increase of about 2.1 MPG. I wasn't expecting anything huge, but I'll take it!

GREAT! install tips included. its easy really
this was pretty easy to install. pretty stright forward. Im going to give 2 tips that will make this install not hard at all. the instructions were clear and photos were accurate. 1. get a 3/4 to 3/4 elbow to run the 5/8 inch supplied hose to the vent hose assembly . there are a few people that have accurately posted that the hose cannot make the turn without kinking or breaking something. Add a little hose to the new nipple and then the elbow and go straight to the existing hose assembly. BTW - getting the 5/8 hose over the existing assemble takes great strength. I heated the 5/8 supplied hose in boiling water to make it over the existing vent hose. YOU WILL SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. 2. when pulling out your sensor from the old air tube...be careful. I cut the hose around it because for sure it would have broke. NOW the actual installed unit. SERIOUS SOUND DIFFERENCE. its like the 5.7 Hemi WOKE UP. You get on it , it sounds like a movie. LOL. I did notice a slight increase in throttle response and power in climbing or passing. Not much, but you will notice. I will do a 2 week test on mileage. LOL at people that say going for the ROAR will lose any extra MGP it gave. Its true but I will hold back so I can see if there truly is a MPG difference under my normal daily commute. Stay tuned.. UPDATE; there really is no MPG difference. If you drive really carefully, then your MPG will go down naturally. I haven't seen any boost in MPG. SOOOO. this is not going to give you much horsepower nor will it save you MPG. Don't buy this for that. Its sounds great and will give you a little more throttle response when passing or at medium to high speeds. That's the nuts and bolts. With that being said, I am pleased with my purchase.

Easy to install and great sound!
Install was pretty easy, although I left my engine cover off since I could not get it to remount securely with the cold air intake. It has been a little while since I installed, but I believe one of the hoses made it difficult and I just never readdressed it. I know I can get it back on, just wasn't a big concern as it is only on there for aesthetics. Looks, sound, and power increase are all phenomenal! Looks 100 times better than stock air box which squirrels or mice constantly used to hide nuts and build nests inside. No noticeable increase in MPG, but I also have a heavy foot. Occasionally get 1 to 2 MPG better than stock, but not on a normal basis. I'd definitely recommend this kit for Ram 1500.

oh yeah...
5 stars. First, the shipment arrived on time, neatly packaged, and undamaged. Second, I love this intake! Have always been a K&N fan, and made a home made CAI on another truck previously that worked very well. But adding this unit to my 390 horse Hemi... Holy cow! The installation was very simple and straightforward. The only con I have found is the rubber PCV extension tube is made of a soft rubber that can kink where it connects into the breather tube. Use caution in trimming the the length, it needs to bend at a gradual 90ยฐ bend to prevent the kink. Took me about an hour to complete. Instructions could not have been simpler. Running stock exhaust, the sound does change slightly at idle. Slightly louder and deeper tone. Under normal driving conditions, there is no drone in the cab, no change in sound at all really. Accelerate slightly, and the Hemi awakens. The tone is deep and throaty, and sounds awesome. Mid throttle acceleration is significantly louder. Stomp it, and it sounds mean. The torque and horsepower increase is very noticeable. More than I expected. As others have stated, it did seem to take about 3 trips of normal driving for the computer to readjust itself to the new air flow. The first time I punched it, it seemed as though it was going to stall out for a second. Had me worried. I drove it a few miles normally, then stopped and shut it off. Started back up after a couple minutes, and drove highway. Stopped again, then hot rodded it a little. Next time I drove it, it was adjusted. I have not yet seen any real change in gas mileage. Definitely not worse. Overall, as I said, I love it and would not hesitate for a second to buy it again. Go ahead, buy it. You will love it. I can't wait to hear it after I change the exhaust! Blessings!

Great product with noticeable performance improvement
Installed on a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi. This kit was an easy installation with no hassle. Everything fit well and I was done in about an hour. As soon as I drove the vehicle, I noticed more throttle response and a sharp improvement in power, particularly at higher RPM during hard acceleration. The sound change is worth noting, as it's a little beyond belief. Under heavy acceleration, the engine sounds like something entirely different; it's a beast! This thing really lets the motor breathe, and the sound is just downright mean. This intake system does exactly what K&N claims it does, and I'm very satisfied. Don't be intimidated; anybody with a few simple tools can install this in their driveway. Well worth the money!

Passt und klingt
Passgenauigkeit und Ableitung sind sehr gut. Einbau war kein Problem. Klingt ordentlich. Mehrleistung stelle ich nicht unbedingt fest. Ist mir aber auch relativ egal

5 stars, smooth installation, recommended
After installing the K&N Cold Air Intake Kit, my RAM gained approximately 247 HP (according to my dynosense) and now makes aggressive "PSSSHHHH" sounds that let everyone at the gas station know I'm a serious racer. The installation was easy enough that even I managed it without breaking anything important, and now my engine breathes like a yoga instructor while making my wallet feel lighter โ which technically makes the car faster due to weight reduction. The best part is hearing that sweet induction noise every time I floor it to merge onto the highway, convincing myself that the extra 5-10 HP was totally worth it while my passengers ask if something's broken. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants their work truck to sound like it's about to challenge a Hellcat at the next stoplight.

No more cleaning my filter every time I go dune bashing
I donโt see a change in house power (might be a myth) but does sound better and gives a bit of improvement on torque
