Superior Quality Gloves
I wanted to update my post by saying these gloves, after six month of serious use regarding weightlifting, has held up extremely well and show no signs of threads tears, rips or threading coming loose. Actually, all aspects of these gloves are very rugged and have withstood the rigors of free-weight weightlifting as well as machine use when required for certain exercises. They have also provided excellent padding for the palms during bench and excellent grip and padding for fingers and palms during other various exercises.Excellent gloves that are strong durable and comfortable. Even the XL were tight the first couple of workouts, but they stretched and fit my hands well. The padding on the palms of the gloves are superior and really relieved the stress I felt with my other gloves. Even the padding on the fingers help with better gripping and less pressure and pain when doing exercises like shoulder shrugs, especially when using dumbbells. The wrist wraps are plenty long and greatly aid in wrist support. These gloves are built very well and do what I intend for them to do during my workouts. I still mainly use free weights on most exercises and some machines for specialized muscle groups. These gloves provide a sturdy and comfortable grip and has vastly improved how the Olympic bar feels in my hands during bench-press. None of my gloves in the past made it a full year without some wear and tear, that should be common knowledge for those looking for 'any' weightlifting gloves. If these gloves last a year with only some minor fraying, it will be well worth the money! Many of my gloves would be wore out after only six months, especially the mid-range brand names. You cannot expect to use something 5-6 days a week and not expect some wear and tear. Again, these gloves are made extremely well and unless someone actually tries to abuse them, they should last for one full year... and I always purchase new gloves yearly. My Experience: I started lifting when I was 13 years old, the basics mostly, but it was a start. By 16, I was lifting seriously. Now, at 50, I reflect back and can't remember a time that I did not lift. During the peak of my life, I was lifting six days a week and three and sometimes four hours per workout. Some may say it was an obsession, but for me, I loved it! As strange as it may sound, I loved my weights as much as my parental and extended family. They became, in essence a friend, a friend that was always there for me and never betrayed. All these decades later, they remain a part of my daily life. I'm older, beat up and wore down, but I still do whatever my body will allow me. It is not as easy as it was twenty-five years ago and my best is a mere infinitesimal fraction of what it once was, but my love, dedication and determination has never waivered or faltered.

best. work out gloves. ever. READ THE REVIEW!!!
ill be honest and say i am a sucker for red and black work out gear, so i was already biased towards these gloves. but having acquired and actually used them i needed to go on record for saying they are the best gloves i have ever used.FIT: when I first got them, i ordered a large and a medium just to be on the safe side. the Medium was too tight and even the Large was a little snug, but i figured after some usage they would stretch a bit, and i was right. after just 2 workouts with them, the large was extremely comfortable on my hand and fingers, and provided more support that i thought.SUPPORT: the wrist strap definitely provided some extra support for my wrist (which i was looking for) while providing me with the flexibility to not over tighten as to restrict blood flow. the gloves are well padded so even the toughest pressure against my hands was well distributed so as not to cause me pain. i positively love the rubber pads along the fingers to provide that extra bit of grip when i felt my grip strength failing after a particularly difficult set of reps.STRENGTH/QUALITY: i have used them 3 times a week for the last 4 weeks and i still don't see any kind of visible failings in the makeup of the gloves.STYLE: lets be honest, for some going the gym is about feeling good about yourself, improving your body, and overall looking better, well, these gloves are sexy. i don't care if the people next to me in the gym like how they look, I think they look awesome, and in some ways (NERD MOMENT INCOMING) remind me of the fight gloves used in popular fighting video games... yes, video games. don't judge me, you chose to read my review.EXTRAS: it might sound silly, but it has these two little tabs over the middle and ring fingers that aid in the removal of the gloves, and i LOVE THEM. it makes it almost effortless to get the gloves off when your arms are already tired. in terms of extras as well, the grip pads that came with the purchase are a nice little addition and i have used them in a quick situation where i didn't want to put on the gloves for one thing or the other.... also, they are very useful for opening jars... my wife uses them for that. i swear. not me, her. AHEM!SERVICE: so something i didn't expect at all, couple days ago I got a call from Crown Gear asking me about my purchase and my thoughts of the product. i was honest with them and told them pretty much what i have listed so far in the review. and they sent me a discount coupon for my next purchase. Awesome after sales service along with everything else?CROWN GEAR FTW!!

Good gloves!
I purchased these primarily to experience the rubber grip inserts sewn into the palms. After a few weeks of using them, I've determined the following:Pros: Rubber grip inserts really come into play during pressing type exercises (bench, military, etc). Form and fit are great, and so far the seams are holding up well. The pull-off loops are excellent, something far too many lifting gloves don't have.Cons: During pulling exercises they're good, but due to the different geometry of each person's hand, the finger pads don't always line up where you want them, and you find yourself repeatedly trying to get a comfortable grip. The wrist wrap, unfortunately, is not made of leather, but rather stretchy nylon-like material. A much better option would be to fabricate the strap out of leather, so there is no 'give' or stretch when trying to make a tight wrap for heavy lifts. Unless you have thick wrists, very often the straps will stretch enough that the velcro pads will practically miss each other due to overlap. Lastly, the section where the gloves meet around the wrist cuff is a bit short, causing the opposing seams to occasionally pinch against your skin when under wrap.Bottom line.....these are good solid gloves after 2-3 weeks of lifting. A few adjustments here and there in materials and design, and these would be full-blown 5-star gloves. I recommend these for the serious weight trainer. As a small side hint, I would also suggest providing these in one or two different trim colors. Not a big deal of course, but options never hurt!

Didn't do it for me.
I've tried the medium and the large of these and they just don't work for me. The padding is so thick that you can't wrap your hands right on the bar, and the long wrist strap is often uncomfortable and gets in the way when not needed. I wound up cutting mine off. I'd stick with a thinner glove and grab some straps.
