TI-89 Savior of MBAs everywhere
When I bought my TI-89 in undergrad my mission was to own a calculator that could solve interpolation problems in Intermediate Engineering Analysis. 8 years later I still have my TI-89, but could not use it in the work place. So, I stored my treasure in the attic to never be used again. When I started my MBA 3 years ago, I thought it may prove useful but again like the work place it was not. When I enrolled in graduate Economics and Finance I discovered that the TI-89 is a powerful tool for these courses. However, I reset my factory defaults by accident. So I needed to purchase the Graph-Link in order to get the Finance application from the TI website. The apps on the TI website are free but require this cable. The was delivered a weekend before my exam. I learned everything about how to use the calculator in a short time and was ready for my first exam. I did great. This product in conjunction with the TI website is probably the most powerful tool an engineering MBA will ever have.

Frustrating but worked!
When I got it it came with everything the seller said there would be... the graph link, the calc to calc cable, and CD with a bunch of calculator apps on it. The issue was with the program it came with. I have a Windows XP pc and tje program installed, but omly TiLP would work. Otherwise, it was fine!

good connection
Works well.

Programming not included
this is useless without software. Also, be sure computer connector fits your computer ports. It does not fit any of mine.

XP Users Beware
I recently bought this thinking I could use it to upgrade my TI-86 calculator. To my surprise I heard it was incompatible with XP. I supposed the worst that could happen is that it wouldn't work. As soon as I recieved the Cable it said to go to the website... so I went and updated the software specific to my calculator. After the installation it asked me to restart. After the restart I immediatly recieved a Blue Screen of death and luckily windows XP found out it corrupted a file in the registry and fixed it but were it not for that I would have to do a format. I have not fully installed it yet as now I have started backing up everything as a just in case scenerio however i warn users that when buying this product be cautious as this is not 100% XP compatible and may mess up your system.

Worried
I'm not convinced, the cd that came with it to install the software isn't compatible with windows, I think it was made for windows 95. I haven't gotten this to work yet but it looks promising.

Works as intended
Worked exactly as it should, however on my unit there is some mostly cosmetic damage on the long unit-to-unit cable along with being sticky from packing tape.

From the ice ages but worth a try
I wanted to play with Virtual TI, moving programming from the TI-83 to the Virtual TI on the PC. VIrtual TI can be difficult to navigate using USB technology. I decided to do some retro work with the "real" serial port. I might also use a serial to USB interface just to see what can be accomplished.
