Pet Dog Belt Car Automotive Seat Safety

Works well in my 10 year-old car.
Works like a charm! My 60-pound dog likes to take rides but I worried about him flying through the windshield if we were ever in a wreck. I'm not saying that this is strong enough to prevent that, but it's a better alternative, in my dog's case, than using the shoulder/lap belt in the back seat and feeding it through his harness... he hates that and it doesn't give him any room to move at all. This Pet Belt gives him just enough room to stand in the back seat and put his front feet on the console as he likes to do. I have an older car and the seat belts don't look like this but it works perfectly in my Kia. It seems sturdy and I just latch it to my dog's harness. The only way it could be improved is by testing it's strength and making sure that the pieces would actually hold in a wreck. I bought a dog leash that was expensive but was guaranteed to not break up to a certain amount of pull. The hardware on the guaranteed dog leash is extremely heavy-duty. I'd say this hardware is medium-duty. I just hope that this never gets put to the "breakage" test.

This is a great safety device for keeping my 13# terrier from getting thrown around in the car in case of sudden stops, etc. The end that goes into the seat belt receptacle is thinner than I expected it would need to be, but metal is pretty strong against a pulling force , so, at least for my little guy it's more than adequate. Not so sure it would hold up against a bull mastiff, though. It's a great deal for the money and a good investment for the safety of your pet, but please use it with a harness; NOT with just a neck collar.

Dog seatbelt made for an interresting fit
I purchased this item with the intention that I could actually clip it into the seatbelt clip for my dog. The portion of the seatbelt that clips in is a thin piece of metal that is too thin to lock into my Subaru; however I was able to still use the item. The cut out portion of the seatbelt fits into the post for the headrest. I have it on there and since it is adjustable I have adjusted it to allow my dog some movement, but she is still restricted. Now since I figured out this trick the seatbelt work fine. Not what I was expecting though.

Very sturdy and handy
This pet dog belt is perfect for my Siba_Inu. Besides being strong this belt is one size fits all from small to the largest dogs, well made. I love the ease of adjusting when I want to give him more room to roam or less so he can't get out of his seat to scratch up our leather upholstery.Safety belt clips aren't all the same size, therefore I worried a bit whether it would be compatible to our model of cars. This belt clip fits our 2004 Honda and Lincoln Nav. I made my own non-adjustable restraining strap from a seat belt strap which I had laying around which clip didn't fit the Nav, hence I'm mentioning this important item. I see the clip is narrower than the normal seat belt clip hence its likely to fit all model cars old and new.

Love it
It works great, I love that I can keep the lead attached along with the seat belt. It has an easy release too.. its small so easy to store in my jeep console, I just pull it out when we go for a ride. The only negative thing I would say there is play when I step on the brake she moves forward it should be a little shorter. I have a puppy pitbull so when she gets bigger it might work better cause there would be less slack.

Feels cheap, but it secures my 2 big dogs.
I use this product for my 75lb Pitbull Terrier and 100lb Rottweiler, and for the most part this product does the job. Only once has this popped out of the buckle when my Rottweiler tried jumping into the front seat of my car. This product does feel cheat. The buckle feels sturdy, yet it seems a little narrow. The leash and latch feel extremely cheap though. I'm surprised this product has withstood the abuse from my 2 dogs so I'm satisfied.

You get what you pay for
this product is too long even at it's smallest adjustment. After only a few uses the plastic adjustment on it snapped in half and broke off . I had to sew it together myself so it could be used(I also made it shorter). Our dog it big and we drive a van. We bought it for safety reasons, Since we don't use the center console in our van the dog can force himself up to the front seat quite easily, I must say it does keep him in the back seat well when we have had to slam on the brakes or turn quickly. Just be careful to tuck the seat belt clasp under the seat.. Our dog stepped on the seat belt release button and set himself free while I was driving. I didn't pay much for this product so I guess I got what I paid . I would not recommend this product

Softer then the other red one.
I ordered 2 red ones and one blue from same vendor. I really wasn't paying attention to size. I got 3 different size clasps that hook to your animal. This one was smaller and the belt was softer, which is good cpnsidering I have cats. I am going to keep the others even though they are big hooks to the collars, but serve as reminders not to go far. Hopefully they will fit their harnesses though.
